Set out from Auckland Sea Kayaks at 4pm with a small group and guide such as Daniel, Byron, or Eric. Paddle about 5 km to Rangitoto, eat a catered Kiwi BBQ, hike toward the summit for sunset, then return across the harbour in darkness. Equipment, guides, dinner, tea, and coffee are included.

“Nathan was our guide and was great. This is about an hour of paddling to the island, 3.4 miles round trip of a hike when there, and an hour paddling back. The operator provides kayak skirts and waterproof jackets. I would recommend hiking shoes for the hike, avoid sandals. You can pack shoes in the dry bags they provide. They will provide vegetarian options if you let them know in advance”

“This whole experience was awesome! We actually ended up going on the Rangitoto kayaking trip because the Motukorea one fell through on the day we had planned, so they put us on the more expensive tour with no additional costs! They were so accommodating. We had Bennet as a tour guide and he was so awesome, he deserves a bonus!! He was so easy to talk to, knowledgeable, and such a joy to spend the day with. Even though our tour was on a gloomy day, he adjusted our plans to make the day just as exciting and fulfilling as we had hoped for! He was such a fantastic guide.…”
