Meet the Newquay Activity Centre near Towan Beach for a two-hour SUP lesson and coastal tour. Your instructor provides the board, paddle, wetsuit, and buoyancy aid, then teaches balance and control before guiding you along sheltered coves, the harbour, and Newquay Bay. James may lead your session, with local wildlife and history adding extra interest.

“James was a great guide with a real interest and knowledge of wildlife and local history. I would say the Paddleboarding isn’t for the faint hearted actually, and if you’re unfit, even tougher. I was surprised how hard going it was on mildly choppy water, having only done it on still lakes and calm tropical sea before! Falling in with a helmet, life vest, wetsuit and trainers on wasn’t pleasant anlthough appreciate H&S takes priority for any of these businesses. Highlight was seeing an adult seal and a youngster which was totally unexpected. Would probably chose kayaking in future due to fitness level!”

“Woody brought the gear and guided us through a really fun paddle experience on Derwent Water. With hurricane Agnes slowly making her way to the Lake District, Woody guided us out onto the water. The winds picked up by the end of the outing, but Woody had engineered our trajectory such that we were blown back to our starting point by the gently increasing breeze.”

5.Paddle Boarding Tour

★★★★★★★★★★4.9 · 13 reviews · 2 hours · from $47

Join Outer Reef for a two-hour SUP tour from Stackpole Quay to Barafundle Bay. You’ll receive a wetsuit, board, paddle, buoyancy aid, safety briefing, and coaching from qualified instructors. Tom, Leo, and Sabrina have led praised sessions, with time for caves, coastal views, swimming, photos, and technique practice.

“Very good fun and well organised. The activity was re-sited to Tenby because of sea conditions, so this isn't about Stackpole Quay. The instructors were nice. If I was going to suggest an improvement it would be that the instructors more clearly communicated with the group. Several times I couldn't hear the instructor's instructions, and there were numerous people at any time who didn't know what we were supposed to be doing. However, overall it was fun.”

“Great paddling with Nigel in a beautiful environment. The river was quiet and as we were paddling, it was just so beautifully peaceful and full of birdlife, it was surreal that I was in London. Nigel was very kind and helpful, showed me lots of different kind of paddling, had great knowledge of the river, the environment and wildlife. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to his stories and it helped me to relax, by the end of the session he made me able to turn back on the paddleboard and check what was behind us...which was a terrifying thought to me at the beginning. Thank you,Nigel. Will definitely go back for…”
